Madison Police Department SWAT 101 Course--June 2-6, 2025

Madison Police Department is hosting a 40 hour SWAT 101 Course on June 2-6, 2025.  This course will provide quality training through classroom presentations, scenario based training and live fire exercises.  Students will:

1) Gain a foundational understanding of common SWAT operations including: barricades, hostage rescue, search warrants, high risk apprehensions and counter assault teams.

2) Increase skill sets in: room entry, marksmanship, breaching, decision making and tactical leadership.

3) Gain familiarity with tactical capabilities in technology, forced entry, snipers, negotiators and less lethal munitions.

4) Gain familiarity with common SWAT standards of physical tests, obstacle courses and firearms qualifications.
